Gibraltar International Airport is a unique airport located in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar. It is the only airport in the world where the runway intersects with a busy road. This means that every time a plane lands or takes off, the road has to be closed to traffic, which can cause some delays for commuters.

One interesting fact about Gibraltar International Airport is that it was originally built as a military airport during World War II, and it wasn't until the 1980s that it began to be used for civilian flights. Today, it serves as an important gateway to the Mediterranean, connecting Gibraltar to destinations across Europe and Africa.

The airport has a very short runway, which can make landing and takeoff quite challenging, even for experienced pilots. In fact, the runway is so short that only small planes are allowed to land and take off from the airport.
